54th Croatian and 14th International Symposium on Agriculture

All members of our group have participated at the 54^th Croatian and 14^th International Symposium on Agriculture, organized in Vodice, Croatia, in the period between 17^th and 22^nd February. During the conference, we presented seven papers as an oral presentations and one poster.

We also had opportunity to visit Marine research center of the Institute Ruđer Bošković,Zagreb.

Thank organizers for the invitation, we are looking forward to meet again.

New paper accepted in Zebrafish

A new paper with the shared first authorship of Timi and with the shared correspondence authorship of Ákos has been accepted for publication in Zebrafish. This work has been achieved with our colleagues from the University of Sao Paolo.

Abstract
We developed an easy, efficient, and cheap protocol for zebrafish sperm cryopreservation carried out on dry ice (20 min) using simple composition solution (200mM glucose, 40mM KCl, 30mM Tris, pH = 8.0). The average efficiency of the present cryopreserve method was between 10% and 20% (expressed as fertilization rate). The experiments were conducted and repeated at two different locations, in different countries, yielding very similar results, showing the reproducibility and applicability of the method.

NACEE conference in Belarus

Our last conference for this busy year was held in Belarus. We had honor to participate in 7^th International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists organized by Network of Aquaculture Centers in Central and Eastern Europe – NACEE in Gorki from 11^th until 14^th December 2018. Timi, Jelena, Zoran and Ilija presented their results together with our dear colleagues from the Department, Levente Várkonyi and József Molnár. Our delegation was also stronger by joining of our colleagues Zsófia Tarnai-Király and Szvetlana Lengyel (technical secretary of NACEE). During the conference, we had opportunity to visit Department for Ichthyology and Fisheries and their laboratories and industrial complex.
